The Internet Archive Scans 1M Books for Blind, Dyslexic Readers and Print Disabled People

religious instituteThe Internet Archive, a non-profit dedicated to offering universal access to knowledge via an online library, recently launched a program that more than doubled the number of books available to print disabled people of all ages. With more than 1 million books translated into DAISY format, the Internet Archive also launched a book donation drive to help increase their virtual bookshelves.

As part of the launch, the DG team developed a media strategy and implemented campaign to promote the new service and raise awareness about the Internet Archive’s book drive. We were responsible for getting this story covered in several hundred media and online outlets including the Washington Post, the Chronicle of Philanthropy, and Education Week.



The African Burial Ground Opens a New
Visitor Center

AfricanBeaurialThe New York Harbor Conservancy and its partner, the National Parks of New York Harbor opened its new visitor center and announced its summer walking tours at the African Burial Ground in Manhattan. The tours begin in June. With 10 site stops, the tour concludes at the African Burial Ground Monument, where visitors are encouraged to visit the exhibition where they can learn about the lives of 17th & 18th century Africans in New York and the scholarship and activism behind the excavation and establishment of the national monument.

DG collaborated with the New York Harbor Conservancy to promote the new center and received television coverage on WCBS .
